don't resign until you see it hit your bank account.

Some bad info on this thread. they can pull a bonus right up until the day of payment.

It’s all arbritary - they can do whatever they want. They don’t follow all the alleged rules because why is the director of my group exempt from location strategy, and currently remote.

Best way to send a message is to put in your notice the day after bonuses hit your bank account. It leaves no doubt that you're taking action due to the failures of the executives. Even a total fool like Shart understands what's happening in that scenario.

We had a guy leave our group last week of January a few years ago. Sr Leader stopped his bonus and distributed it equally among the rest of the team. 6 of us got about $10k additional. The bonus was paid early Feb that year.

If Friday 2/14 is “bonus payday” I would suggest giving notice on Monday 2/17.

Remember this is a firm that doesn’t 401k match until the last payday of the year. So no way I would give notice before 2/17.

You must be an active employee on 2/14 to receive your bonus. If you intend on resigning make sure you remain an active employee until that date.

When is the bonus payout? Can’t even find it by searching?

bonus pay out when laid off is completely different than if quitting. Your probably safe to give notice in early February as would be pretty difficult for your management team to go in and stop it, but just make sure you are still working here come pay day. You may be safe leaving after Feb 8 because the paycheck with the bonus will be through that date.

Use common sense. I'm waiting once my bonus is scheduled to be deposited.

Not until you got your bonus letter or the sum into your bank.

I left last month, but pretty sure I won’t receive it. I called HR and got the run around. I got the impression it is managers discretion. So, if they want to they could, but likely will not.

I would not give your notice until after the bonus hits your bank account. I am giving notice on 2/14, as I have another job lined up and don’t want to jeopardize a five-figure payout.
