I'm not talking just about us, but all over the place. How is everybody not worried out of their mind? I'm in sales and marketing and I know we're in trouble. All I keep thinking about is being laid off and not being able to find something else for who knows how long because everybody is also laying off and not hiring. I don't understand how everybody else is not worried.

Keep laying people off. Everybody deserves a vacation after two years of Covid drama.
Marketing is safe. The IHA is kicking a$$ and taking names, and LOBs are chomping at the bit to hire people who are adept at digital.
If you are a rock star you have nothing to worry about.
The layoffs are going to get worse across the US. Despite Biden claiming the economy is strong, it is not. This winter is going to be rough.
That's a bold claim. A large % of the company have very limited years of service and would get a very small severance as a result. "Hoping" for that pitiful amount of $ would be ridiculous. There's also plenty of people that like their job or aren't interested in changing jobs right now.
In any event, even if it's a small minority that aren't looking for a severance, since when are we supposed to ignore the minority?
Have a reserve. This is a cyclical economic event. It will eventually pass. Be cautious if making a job change. Meanwhile, hunker down and focus on what you do.
This post is an overreaction. If worries find a new job now. Contractors and low performers go first
Would you please stfu? Literally no one cares and the majority of us WANT the severance. Grow a pair dude. Wow.
