Earnings will be announced the week of the 16th (usually on the 16th or 17th). As someone who had involvement in HR related tasks associated with earnings release, I can tell you there is usually a decent chunk laid off just after January earnings are announced. I saw the numbers shrink every year. It happens around other earnings dates as well, but the timing is not as consistent. Sometimes a couple of weeks before, sometimes right after but usually you can set a calendar by it.

You wont know until the words are coming out their mouth when the next layoffs are. You won't get a heads up date

Wonder will they expect people from the Wexford office to commute to Dublin? Surely the work of over three hundred people won't be absorbed that quickly

Confirm what?
That there will be layoffs? Of course there will be. There is every year. Some are huge and some less so.

Re Wexford. It's going to be another year before that office closes. Yes it may be announced but it will take time. They'll hope that as many people as possible will leave so they don't have to pay out. Id stay there and get something outta them

How sure are you of this Wexford site closure and announcement date? (With only 2 years service would I be better to jump ship now before it sinks)

@bx+1. When you state “will be let go” do you mean RIF or terminated with cause”

Got confirmation from my boss (who is a MD) it will happen on Monday/Tuesday. I have 2 people with partially met rating, they will be let go, non- negotiable.

The 2 week recharge apparently has energized our constipated senior mismanagement and HR to the point where they need to pass FTEs in their stool.
