Severance pay

I heard a rumor that AT&T is going to offer severance pay for people to leave in February. Has anyone else heard of this?

The C suite would rather be (rightfully) tarred and feathered than to give any two years pay (as anything close to ‘severance’). They’d find whatever capricious means they could to avoid that outcome.

Before you say no way to this you must realize voluntary severance is double or more than double in the union contracts. To offer a voluntary severance to the senior people is the cheapest way to downsize when we are talking about bargained for workforce. So the offer to leave can go to management but for union it is the only way to really do it especially the higher wage tables like technicians.

Fake news. Sales will be given unattainable quotas, make no commission and eventually be place on PIP. Management employees will continue to be overworked. It’s all BS and 2025 will be focused on pushing people out the door.. no packages

this is legit. I'm aware of two AMs who were given the option and took advantage of it. They will be out in February

If there is in-fact any validity to this post, then I'll welcome the 2 years of severance pay that I'll get when I accept the offer without having to think twice about it. I know a lot of technicians are fed up with their jobs and are bailing out seeking employment elsewhere. They too will gladly accept any offer that comes their way!

Yes! And I heard a dude at work say that in addition to the 5 + 5, he heard another co-worker thinking that since the company has so many old trucks no longer needed, that maybe they'd remove the logo on the sides and give the trucks to old workers as an extra incentive to retire.

They offered a 50k bonus severance along with SIPP in the SE back in 2020 so never say never. I know because I was offered and 3 techs in my group took the offer. Unfortunately, I was still too young so wasn’t able to leave, might be a different story now!

"then got unemployment from my state (it's a libtard state so anyone gets it who lost a job for most any reason)"

Sounds like you disapprove of this program or its criteria. Couldn't you have demonstrated your opposition and your rugged self-reliance by declining to file for unemployment? Missed opportunity.

There are still some of us that did not accept relocation and have not yet received a surplus date but we’ve been told February is likely so maybe that is what they are eluding to.

If so, just union offer or management as well?

Fake news! Union offers only come in in the 3rd week of the 3rd month of each quarter. That is when the union usually is informed of any head count reduction set to take place and which job titles will be impacted! Don't believe this post!

I left in September and volunteered for an involuntary layoff. I got severance, outplacement benefits, assistance in getting Medicare approval processed, and then got unemployment from my state (it's a libtard state so anyone gets it who lost a job for most any reason). Never say not possible!

It's true. They modeled after the current relo assistance program. You're given the opportunity to separate and pay your own severance.

Each of said cupcake topper will be of AT&T loser guy face. The mister stankey. The mister leggs. The mister sleepy ward head and the lady hippy heidi. After such of time the cupcakes will crumble like the job they doos.

Everyone that is laid off gets severance.

So what you’re saying is that you heard a voluntary termination package May be offered in February.

This is the first I heard of it, and it would be out of the normal and would contradict what leadership has said in the recent past, but it could be.
