Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

after RTO, comes mandatory productivity measurements via vendor tools

Now that RTO will be phased in during the start of the year, you can bet the next corporate trend will be mandatory productivity measurements using a wide range or vendor tools.

You can expect to be measured on GtiHub commits, backlog handling, agile sprints (kinda like IBMs old KLOC scheme), if you're not a dev, you can expect all sorts of PKI like measurements , since they are already capturing your keystroke and mouse activity (its goes well beyond seeeing how long your on the VPN) .Every click, every email, every keystroke is tracked, analyzed, and used to squeeze more work out of you like a lemon. 🍋

If you don't measure up, you'll go to the naughty list and then your immediate AVP or director will be tasked with straightening you out... fun times ahead.

Make sure you talk when you are on a Teams meeting. Sitting on a call and not providing voice input is the same as being idle. Any multi-tasking while on a call is not counted in your favor. You must talk. Do not put it on mute!!!

It will be interesting to see what our performance goals are this year. They have to tell us what the targets are before they can put us on a PiP.

I can’t believe they’re still using MSOC to manually tally their own productivity. Stupidest system I’ve ever seen.

What a bunch of m0r0ns

Nothing like getting an email (already) on January 3 2025 that states:

" Reminder! MSOC performance objectives are ##%. Currently the following individuals /techs are under target this current year"

Happy F-ing 2025!

It’s called PIP (performance improvement plan), a lot of companies are using this tactic to thin the HC numbers and fire for cause but the problem is that it’s not applied fairly. There are a lot of unmeasurables, documentation is your friend.

Should have been instituted 20 years ago.
