Bootlick is great

Our boss whines if we don't lick his boots.
Weird that a self-described republican in 2025 would have some sort of pattern recognition issue.
My manager often asks me if I am 100% loyal to him no matter what. He often asks me if I am with him or against him. My manager is an egomaniac obsessive control freak insecure narcissist who can never tolerate "no" for an answer.
I manage people. How much I "like" a direct report is directly related to how well they perform. So, yeah.
Over the years, I have learned that performance evaluation has nothing to do with the actual performance. It's all about whether your boss likes you or not. Originally I was hired by a nice boss, and I was always given a great performance evaluation. But my boss moved to another department, and a new boss was assigned to my team. The new boss reversed everything the original boss was doing, and I was given a terrible performance review every time even though I worked hard in the same way as before, accomplished so many things, and received many recognitions from other managers.
OR get a 40% raise by leaving to another company.
Right, if someone is more successful it must be due to brown-nosing. Has nothing to do with being smarter and a higher performer. This is why the OP will continue to drink his own tears and blame others
@bq+1jgr14xny Except I am not one. Just amused by those who are threatened by their existence. The OP seems to have insecurity at their core. Doing their job seems to equate to 'boot licking'.
I would gladly lick my boss’s boots if it meant getting a 5% raise this year.
