Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Major snowstorm to affect millions this weekend.

Don’t feel pressured to risk your life to show up for work on Monday if the roads are dangerous. Especially for the executive leaders who have done everything possible to disrespect you, exploit you, marginalize you, undermine you and boast publicly about their plans to eliminate you.

I have driven in ice and snow on very treacherous roads in previous years because I felt responsibility to show up for the team. I took pride in giving my best to a manager who (I think tried) to have my back. Unfortunately, my previous.manager couldn’t even have his own back.

We should have never felt the need to drive to work in dangerous weather, but definitely don’t do it for these self-serving clowns. If they haven’t made arrangements for you to WFH, then it’s on them. (We are back to 5 days in the office and they have taken away our WFH technology.) If you don’t feel comfortable admitting you aren’t willing to drive on ice, then say you are sick with the stomach virus that is going around.

Take care of yourself and your families, because our senior executives are all patting themselves on the back for achieving new levels of ruthlessness. Let’s see what these over-educated under-skilled frat boys can do without you.

Back in the old days, I used to believe in a phrase like no "I" in team. But these days, I really don't care, I am quiet-quitting, it's me first, I just want my paychecks. I will never sacrifice myself for sc-mbag Charlie and his cronies.

Constant Reminder: Companies do not care about you, they only care about protecting themselves. You have to take care of yourselves.

Our manager says we should be proud to be considered “critical employees” 🙄. Right. We are only considered critical until they are ready to sever us.

In our department, no one comes out and directly says “You have to get yourself in no matter how bad the roads are” but it is 100% the culture. You will be shamed if you don’t come in when others do. We had a lower-waged girl (single mom who needed her job) wreck her car driving in to work on ice-covered roads several years back. Do you think they did anything to help her out? No.

There is a saying “Take care of your employees and your employees will take care of your business.” Wells Fargo leaders are doing the opposite, so I am not going to put myself out too far for them.

OSHA rules for inclement weather emphasize that employers must provide a safe work environment. This includes assessing weather risks and ensuring no employee is forced into dangerous situations. For jobs requiring travel or outdoor work, avoid mandating attendance when conditions pose significant hazards.

When I was a manager at Bank of America years ago, we were hit by a huge snow blizzard in Charlotte. The department head sent an email to all managers and instructed us not to force our staff employees to come to the office. The biggest reason is potential lawsuits in case something happens to them and we would be held liable for that.

"Do not pay attention to any of these negative commentators. They are nothing but parasites"

Wow, absolutely wow.
So I guess in your world anyone who disagrees is a parasite. Got it.
