I assume they don’t want employees getting ki-led/stranded in snow trying to “Live their Designation”.
Somebody is going to have to actually lead and call a snow day in Dallas on Thurs and Fri.
I know middle management is too scared/weak to do it.

Ever office has an infinite number of filing cabinets with locks. That’s where you secure your laptop.
"Where are ya going to lock them up? Can’t do it at a drop in space."
There are lockers and nooks to lock up a laptop. Believe me, look at the floors in the buildings. They are not paying people to do a lot of in depth cleaning.
“ "Starting tomorrow, i will leave my laptop in the office …”
Where are ya going to lock them up? Can’t do it at a drop in space.
"Starting tomorrow, i will leave my laptop in the office since we are not allowed to WFH."
I am with you. I bought my laptop lock over the holidays. I don't mind a little personal expense to support the corporate policy.
Starting tomorrow, i will leave my laptop in the office since we are not allowed to WFH. Closed office means no work for me.
"Do you think this constant schtick of yours is funny or what’s the deal here?"
This was the first I have posted of this so thank you for confirming there are many like me, underwear and all. Maybe if you get your nose out of Stankey's a$$ you will see the sh!+ storm that's coming before you get a mouth full.
“Sorry, our leaders have told us we cannot work from home. The work you do for the company outside the office does not count “
I think we may have the same leaders, yet they constantly expect you to work nights and weekends. But it doesn’t count. I think I’ll take a caregiver day or sick day when the roads are bad (they don’t salt or plow down south, so it’s all ice, also funny to watch the snowbirds down here driving and wrecking every storm, it ain’t like where you came from). If I can’t wfh and I need to be home that day, then PTO day it will be. So when I leave the office, phone and laptop are off, they get no more. They will only get 40 going forward, not the 100+ I’ve been working.
I’d say if it’s black ice or you get a couple feet of snow then we can talk.
Snowed in. Dangerous roads. Take a Vacation Day.
AT&T: If you die, you die. See you at 8am.
If schools are closed - caregiver leave. I’m not allowed to WFH anymore so I refuse to. Can’t do it, won’t do it.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game. And the CEO.
My 75 year old grandma who lives in North Dakota drives on snow all the time. All she has is front wheel drive and does just fine. I did notice the forecast temps for Dallas are well above freezing on Thursday and Friday so I doubt someone’s going to die in this blizzard.
Ask Stank to give you a ride in
They will never tell everyone to stay home.
You are an adult. If it isn’t safe to commute, then don’t.
AT&T employees must come into the office. We always have even if inclement weather.
" I’m working from home Monday and possibly Tuesday this week."
Sorry, our leaders have told us we cannot work from home. The work you do for the company outside the office does not count.
It’s not rocket science. Ask your boss. Our leadership has already given us an inclement weather policy. I’m working from home Monday and possibly Tuesday this week.
I mean I get the fun of the hyperbole, but they are not going to require people to come in during a snow/ ice weather event. Especially in Dallas. That said I see 44 degrees for Fri in the long term forecast. In my area of the country, it doesn’t snow at 44 degrees. Maybe it’s different in DAL.
Snow is no excuse not to RTO. Take a train, bus, uber.
RTO= REEKING TOILET OFFENSES. get ready to do most of your duties in a public restroom
You need a snow day? Code it as PTO.
No school, Snow Day!!!!
I like snow days at school.
they don't care
Didn’t senior employees with over 25 years service grow up walking uphill both ways to school in the snow? They talk about this a lot anyway.
Results not excuses!
Just have a conversation w your mgr. I am in the Midwest and getting this big system. Spoke w my mgr already as road will be bad Monday he said no problem just document it in moose as telecommuting and wfh where it’s safe. It’s really that simple to just be an adult about things. He had no concerns.
there goes the metrics down the toilet, day 1 strike 3
You’re kidding right?
Trains/buses are not located everywhere.
You have to drive to actually get to a train/bus station first.
Stop pretending that you can't take a train or bus to work.
Be VERY careful people in Dallas do NOT know how to drive on snow/ice because it is NOT a regular occurrence in Dallas. You will hear about ALL the crashes on the news during snow/ice weather.
Please be VERY careful. If you can stay home, stay home.
They will send out the traditional, “you should come in unless it’s too unsafe to travel”. The attorneys like that.
Does a little snow mean we stop collaborating?
Of course not, snow means we need more collaboration.
On days when it snows, you should risk your life to make it into the office and hopefully don’t break your neck walking into the office.
Oh wait, being on permanent disability sounds pretty good right about now.
You must RTO. There is no excuse. Driving in snow could be effective in reducing headcount.
