Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO will happen

RTO will happen. Yes, we’ll all be unhappy and complain, but the fact is that the majority will follow the rules. We'll return to the pre-pandemic way of work within months. But other things will change, too. I can guarantee that productivity will drop. People perform better when they're happy and satisfied. When they resent the company for taking away something that wasn’t causing harm, they won’t give it their all. So, yes, RTO will happen, but I’m not sure higher-ups will like the results.

I was remote pre-pandemic, but I have to say - I was guilty of working long hours to get projects done. Yes, sometimes I started working late, but I also frequently worked all night. I can already see my work stacking up and falling behind now that I'm watching the quitting time clock. I'm sure this will be seen as a performance drop on my part but oh well.

Productivity at AT&T has always been low. Nice to have a business where customers always pay the bills no matter how the economy is doing.

Pre-pandemic I was fully virtual, when are we going back to that?
