Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Any predictions on what’s getting hit tomorrow?

Who’s kicking off the new layoff season?

I hate when people bring in useless statistical analysis and utter a bunch of nonsense. They must be those six sigma id--ts.

Linking current stock price to layoffs is a little ridiculous. Costs aren't really being cut in a meaningful way, and WF has been downsizing for over a decade, what was the stock price doing most of that time? Yeah, not much. We're down 100k people, but only the last 5,000 or so were the key to magical stock gains? Not buying that.

@c0+1jgzgcvbp this is correct. IMO there is a high negative correlation between layoff's announcement and bank earnings. They either play the layoff card (announce big layoffs and tough numbers) or not. Now does this mean you go out and buy 1/17 72.50 calls? 10159 open/4330 volume.

Probably same as always - a spread across all locations and departments in order to get the maximum number of layoffs without triggering WARN rules.
