RTO - daily in office hours required

What is true and what is a lie - is there a mandatory requirement for in office hours in FL? Management claims they don't understand the policy. Some say no requirement, login and work, others say 4 hours, the some say 8. Hard to follow the rules when you don't know the rules...

Not a single real response, this just shows you that no one understands how long one should stay in the office.

To the Univ of .. re ..ds who question the term contract

One does sign an "agreement" to abide by the firm rules and policies. And you do sign a code of conduct - another agreement - every year.

Even a kid would understand the word.

Contract (n) n is the notation used to denote it as a noun in case you are wondering
a written or spoken agreement, especially one concerning employment.

Question. What kind of report of hours do managers have? We don’t badge out of the building. And (shock and surprise), we don’t all do our work logged into the system all day.

Supposedly the magic number is 6. It will probably go up. When they look at abusers, they are starting with zero and working their way up, like with swipes. Any manager who says they have a report of the hours specially requested it from HR if they are telling the truth. The manager in-office dashboard does not (yet) show the hours.

You’re the one that keeps using the word “ contract” 42.

Why do you continue to look at this board & post if your no longer employed here & have no idea what’s going on.

Your contract may also say - if you can read and comprehend - that the firm can change their terms and you accept the new terms by continuing to work and get a paycheck.
No one asked you to continue here. You folks believe that the Bank cannot function without you (such an arrogance)- there are 1.4 billion people who can easily and are replacing you without batting an eyelid.

If you do not like that please start a revolution than whining. May be you are the union leader that the mass in BNY is looking for as a savior. Wait why are you running away ? To read the contract again with your famed degree one believes

Meanwhile, Jamie Dimon is pushing for a 5 day RTO model at JP Morgan for all. Surely our leaders won’t allow us to embarrass them much longer with this RTO stuff!

: @a6+1jh0d6gh8 = I don't understand anything you're saying, but I can see that as long as the billionaires of finance have little soldiers at their beck and call for the few pennies you're paid, the future is in their hands.

Look at this post and the comments…..
Tsk tsk tsk… what a sad and juvenile place this is. From the monster Tweety Bird CEO all the way down to the entry levels, it’s mindless, dull and pedantic. And all these people trying to carve out ways to minimize time in the office is just pathetic. Think of it this way knobheads, if there is no WFH, you are expected to be in the place 40 hours a week over 5 days. Now work backwards for 4 days RTO and then 3

The faq on the website regarding in office hours says you are expected to work normal hours. My department recently started requiring us to stay for 4 hours. I'm assuming there must be a reason our director did that.

One is paid 8 hrs per day. One bills 8 hrs in their time card (if one exists). And it is also in a window ( 7 am - 6 pm typically). No one questions or worries about LONG LUNCH or LONG BREAKS.

If one does not want to, no one is forcing one to work beyond the 8 hr If your manager forces and then does not accommodate your requests for slacking other times it is a personal issue (your relationship with manager) than a policy.

You have a contract to provide your 8 hrs (policy) and be paid for that. Sounds rude but that is what you and I are. Hired g-ns. No document in the firm says that you have to work 4 hrs in office space. Lets be honest - it won't.

We are not hourly employees. If the intent is just to meet the 4 hr or 6 hr requirement then make it 8 hr requirement like a Union shop. My spouse is in such environment - they log the time-check-in and time-check-out and the mandatory breaks even though a FTE.

Some of us are covered by overtime laws. I am not one of them so I do inform my manager that I am not available after 5PM. But I have to accommodate the requests early morning because of Pune. And when I "slack off" with errands to run it does not create a friction. Well I do not know how long it will last with the P-M model as I may be on my way out replaced by Pune members.

The RTO days in Office days I do "my time" at office. Well I get paid for that. If that is how the firm measures productivity and that is what my "contract" stipulates then I will abide by it.

Am I looking for a career here? NO
Am I worried the bank may become defunct - NO
BNY Is just another employer who wants my skill sets and if someone else is offering me better price for the same 8 hrs - I am gone.

Until then ...

My boss keeps on saying it’s 8 hours, that he has a report with the number of hours of each team member, that we shouldn’t be here just to be on model, we shoudl appreciate the office. They just don’t get it.
