Anyone seen this? Tracks your laptop’s connection. Showing your network type and connection type and location.

OP here
Seeing how this has been around 4-5 months according to someone below… what’s the purpose? Is it feeding into the presence report as a data point?
“How do we access this tool? Is it different on MAC vs PC”
Someone post the link, please?
Pro Tip-
Go purchase your own cable lock for your PC.
Find the seat you want.
Leave PC online and locked to desk.
No filing cabinets? My office has empty cabinets everywhere. Just throw it in there while connected to the wifi and go home

If someone removes the asset THEY are in violation and should be reported to asset protection for dismissal.
Now you all know what John used to claim you weren’t working 49 hrs a week and how misguided his actions were based on demonstrably false data.
"And it terribly inaccurate. I’m in building 5 days a week…and it shows me connected to external wifi vpn and or not connected at all on any number of days. Coworkers have similar issues in the tool. Spoken to a friend in another office who said its was showing him connected to external wifi vpn while he was connected to the LAN and had wifi disabled…"
Same for me. It shows the same IP address as internal and then external throughout the day.
"It is a great tool!"
As are you!

You might want to look at the mouse print at the bottom of the page in the "Notes" section. It basically states that you are responsible for letting them know that the data is wrong. Of course, until yesterday I did not know the app was available for the regular folks.
It’s especially bad at tracking presence on Macs.

It's nice having a place to leave my laptop and phone but the downside is it's a small windowless office. Cold in the winter and cold in the summer. I do my part and keep the space heater on high and turn on the TV in the breakdown when nobody is there.
"open space desk with a few inch or so divider (not even a cubicle)"
Same here, I'm going to have to bring nose plugs on top of the ear plugs because nothing stops the noise or the smell from the f*rts from people so happy to be in the office that they've stopped caring about anything.
It shows my laptop connected 24/7
Your lucky to have a place to leave it. The rest of us have to cart everything back in forth because even assigning an open space desk with a few inch or so divider (not even a cubicle) is too much good will on their part to give us.
Looking at it right now. It shows my laptop connected 24/7 since I don't take it home now. Don't take my work phone home either.
8 and skate, it can wait.

As of last month this data feeds the presence report but is only used as the compliance metric for those reporting to buildings without card access. That may be changing now as they begin to tighten the sc--ws to crank up attrition.
It is a great tool!
Yes, everyone has access. Go ahead and verify your data, you soon discover how inaccurate it truly is.
Last time the link was posted, it was promptly taken down. This is how you know corporate monitors the sh-t out of this website
It’s been active atleast for the last 5 months .
Yes. Not a new thing. If you haven't see it, ask your Boss for the link. This is one of the feeds into the Presence Report.
Yes indeed.
