If one is not employed Dec 31, does Wells give the matching contribution ?

Employed by 12/15, you get match last business day of year. In 2024, it was 12/31.
I know of someone whose last day was after 12/15 but before 12/31 and confirmed they got the match.
I read today 12/15 as someone else said. This makes sense given it gets applied shortly after before EOY.
