Path to 2028

Director level resource plans due Monday. NMV indicators will RTO ASAP and Dallas / ATL by 2028 for the last ones.

There are 33 non core hub locations broken into two lists (list 1 and list 2) this will consolidate first of list 2 and then list 1 by 2028.

Hearing that the "letters" release will be delayed til Feburary. Of course. They have realized that they actually need to make a plan.

"Where are the employees who have received notice of this?

If you are in a non hub location and notified of their plans for you, speak up."

We are in waiting mode. This is normal condition for ATT. Some vague info comes from various places, it slowly becomes more clear, eventually some managers are telling you that something gonna happen "soon", months go by and a "program" is revealed and it starts happening. Then a few months later it peters out and goes away and is never spoken of again.

Current guidance I have received is that "sometime soon", all of us at non-hub cities will be sent the "letter".

If you’re not in ATL or DLS, your time is limited. I don’t know how much clearer it’s already been.
Finance did this already. ACS/IoT. This has always been the plan.

Tick tock.

“ What is El Segundo considered in terms of hubs? Is it on list 1 or list 2?”

We seem to be in limbo. On one hand they have spoken about moving to a new space and how important the presence is in El Segundo/LA. On the other hand a few of the VPs left because of Pack Your Bags or Get Out and we don’t have many senior people still here.

Given the track record of lies and obfuscation I can’t imagine they will keep this location long term but who knows. One way or the other I am looking to get out and anyone here probably should do the same.

"The hub consolidation was actually planned back in 2019 and VP announced it would be coming in the future during a “Towne” hall in the fall of 2019, but was held off by Covid."

Wow -- if that is true, what a case of completely deficient leadership. They should have announced the future plans as early as possible in order to not completely disrupt people's lives.

Meanwhile, in certain “non hub” locations they just opened new office space/ signed new leases. ?

My previous director in E&O hinted at this plan. It's most likely real.

Indeed.

This is true. I was approached me about MAYBE needing some of my employees to backfill in the next 12 months as the employees not in Atlanta or Dallas are required to make a choice.

We were not discussing “remote” employees, we were discussing employees in “extended hub” locations.

I do believe the employees that were told they could stay in places like Michigan, Chicago, Florida…. are on the list to be forced to the major HUBs shortly.

Sounds like they haven’t made enough employees quit, yet.

That is actually behind schedule of what they were touting last year.

The hub consolidation was actually planned back in 2019 and VP announced it would be coming in the future during a “Towne” hall in the fall of 2019, but was held off by Covid.

If this is truly an agenda that is being plann d now at the Director level, it will absolutely be leaked and spoken about daily until it happens.

And just to be clear, I have no doubt they wish they could do it, I just know with 100% certainty, that it is not possible. Just another plan they can’t execute.

So you’re saying that by 2028 all 33 hub locations will all be in either ATL or Dallas?

Yea, this ain’t happening. No way in he-l.

Ok smart a-s. The dumpster fire remains in Dallas. So what? For years Harvard Business Cases will study and marvel had just how much money id--t leadership can cost shareholders using AT&T years 2000 -2025. It should be called the telecom cluster with snake oil and his favorite son in law and uncle fester. A three ring circus and clown show.

So basically Dallas will turn off the lights.

"Goodbye to all those who thought during COVID they would sell and move to the BFE and work for the company as virtual."

I feel for those folks but they took a pretty significant risk. I thought about doing but wanting to maintain consistency for my kids made me stay put. However, I am in ATL and still got the FTW order so I had to find other employment to stay in ATL. Nothing is sacred with this company so plan accordingly as another posted.

Not sure on ATL if a long term plan is set in stone. There are a lot in ATL.

At one time there was some tax incentives Cingular had and invested in ATL.

I would expect ATL at some point but not anytime soon. In the meantime, most know level 2+ and above hires are heavily placed now in Dallas or ATL while VP and above seems to be Dallas.

Goodbye to all those who thought during COVID they would sell and move to the BFE and work for the company as virtual. This is common in a lot of places and we are seeing a lot of millennials confused now on what to do.

So, List 2 will be vacated over the next 18 months, and list 2 will be vacated over the following 18 months. I wonder what the end date is for Atlanta. I am thinking 60 months.
