Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Quick Survey

What do you predict that BNY will take away from us employees this year (other than our dignity, of course)?

Regarding your list, what are “Safe-care” hours? If you are in the States, they increased the Paid Sick Leave to accommodate all the varying state laws as it became difficult to track. Some ended up with more “PST” than others because of their state laws. If they reduce it back, then they’ll have to reincorporate all the varying state requirements. I really don’t see them doing this.

Drink some water.
Are you okay now?

You may be the loyal, moral, christian employee who upholds the Hamilton-created bank together from your basement. Without your hard work the bank would have collapsed and clients would have fled.

But unfortunately since you are not visible such role models are hard to find to mentor the thousands who need to be shepherded into a pen and trained with the hope that they will all go into a basement and start becoming the invisible force that can hold the plumbing of the banking sector together

The administration needs loyal workers like you to set that standard of working non-stop to keep the bank running. So do come in train the next generation army. That is another sacrifice with which your loyalty will be etched in the Mysource pages

Is this a latest update? Is it a reliable source?

From prior posts, 10% cut or 2,000 employees in Operations for year 2025.

When I started in 2011 the 401k match was not 7%. It was 4% and then they matched a 1/2 of a percent up to 6% after that meaning you could get a total 5% match by contributing atleast 6%. I can 100% see them moving back to this.

Is this a HR ploy here to get more ideas - We are giving the HR ideas

  1. RTO increase - 3 days-5days
  2. 401(k) match removal
  3. Starbucks removal
  4. Increase Healthcare costs - which they did
  5. Reduce the 7% true match to 5% match - not true match
  6. Change the SUB package
  7. Bring down the number of Safe-care hours (104 now back to 40 ?)
  8. Remove the Care-for-your-family time off (80 hrs)

Just like that in this forum we have provided HR with lots of ideas as if they needed help . Great job !

The Bank will take away all RTO refuseniks and fire them with no package, because these goofballs refuse to work. Very bad people indeed and hopefully they learn a life lesson.

For this dude that thinks people who work remote dont work you are flat out WRONG! I prob worked more remotely for bny than I did actually going into the office on the hybrid days! I have worked late nights and on weekends to get 💩 done for reporting for my clients so dont give me n others that bs excuse that remote workers dont work. We definitely do! Seems to me like YOU are the one who cant remote work and prob needs to be micro managed by your supervisor! So take that stick out of your hole, get off your high horse and stop being condescending on here to people because YOU dont like remote work. Not our fault you cant handle it!

3 day work week. If 5 days is good enough for JPM, it's going to be good enough for us.

Toilet paper, especially on the tech floors because most of the workers don’t use toilets. They much prefer the street

Conversion of salary to BoNYBuxs the newest crypto fad, which will only be cashable after 3 years locked down and a limit of .00240 BoNYBuxs convertible to USD monthly.
There will also be a BoNYBuxs marketplace at each "growth site" where basic protein, caffeine and lab grown algae from local sewage treatment facilities will be available for purchase, no cash sales. Can't afford a place to live or that accepts BoNYBuxs? Each site will also have cots under each desk.

401K match.
It’s the next match to go splatch.
Robin could give two brown loafs about your retirement.
