I can attest to it from personal experience. Not just reduced a bit, reduced drastically. One of the stupidest moves in the history of this leadership, and that's truly saying something, considering all the id--tic moves Stankey and his crew made over the last few years.

There’s no way you’re working any harder at home than in the office. I doubt you do much at either location
They don’t care. Goal is to reduce expense so senior leaders can get their golden parachutes. They get thousands of stock options every month. CFO just got 3.4M shares It’s all about them getting rich and everyone else being good little soldiers.

You're expecting logic during the process. I am sure at some point in the future our team will be moved to Dallas. However, they would have to replace about 8 of us. The logical thing would be to move the boss to ATL.
The only thing AT&T had to do was,
- Level the structure and get rid of leaders that didnt add value.
- Get rid of the idle workers when they were WFH using real performance metrics.
- Promote themselves as a real leader in work/life balance and hybrid-friendly .
But of course T is toothless, uninspiring, leaderless all the way to the top. Even Jeremy Legg got his wings clipped 3 months in. What a bunch of short sighted copy cats. It’s a shame because the Stink wants so badly to be loved, admired, and respected as a mover and shaker in the corporate game, but just doesn’t get it. It’s all about having ba--s son.You gotta grow some and use them. Have a conviction that wasn’t stolen from someone else. Still hasn’t learned anything from T-mob.

All them conference rooms and no meetings. Only people in the conference rooms are people that couldn’t find a desk.
Increased productivity occurs when employees are happy.
I’m not happy, so when I’m in the office I prioritize fostering collaboration. That’s a fancy term for I get up and walk around and talk to other coworkers about how stupid it is to be in an office where we don’t do any true collaboration in person.
I still only collaborate about work on my laptop, which is what I was doing at home.
No I’m definitely not more productive and I expect to see this corporate wide in the next several earning calls.

Spoken like someone who is not capable of being productive unless under the thumb of their boss. You are the type of employee that AT&T should actively seek out and fire.

This whole RTO thing made me realize I was doing too much working from home. I’m clocking out with half the amount of work done now.
Day to day issues of finding parking spot and place to seat at my office are main basic factors affecting my productivity big time.
I agree I’m more productive at home. There’s too much distraction in the open desk environment. 3 people around me on the talking phone, I can’t hear myself think. I put in iPods AND over the ear noise canceling headphones to concentrate.
I estimate I am 3x to 4x faster getting work done at home. Hilariously, many if not most applications work better over the VPN and the average home now has a much faster WAN connection than our underequipped office locations can muster. Combine that with the lack of coworker distractions and WFH crushes in-office for productivity.
Connecting changes everything
