Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT C Suite = The Emperor Has No Clothes

Their only plan is to gut all costs, buyback stock, rig the short term metrics as always, and jettison out with as much money as possible before it all collapses. And it will collapse with all the talent leaving being backfilled by offshoring and young low paid candidates at a far less than 1 to 1 ratio. I see zero plans to grow and only slash and burn tactics by Executives. Without investment and a plan to grow the top line collapse is inevitable. Apple, Microsoft, Google etc....are far to compete to take on this dumpster fire unless they can cherry pick assets and get them for a song. I would suggest all employees liquidate their retirement holdings/match in ATT. Start posting videos to YouTube of the poor working conditions. No one will be held accountable but you can punish and embarrass the higher ups.

It will be very interesting to see if we have another quarter of revenue misses.

ATT never leads anything. They just follow the latest and greatest buzz to their own detriment. By the time they skate to the puck the action has moved into another zone. Zero anticipation of problems and market movements. Just too many silos and beauracracies to overcome and be nimble and effective.

I have an MBA but i don't drink the kool-aid. Still an hourly 1st level manager. Their leadership program is a joke. They don't know how to lead anything. Hard pass.

For 20+ years I watched very effective employees get passed over time and time again for some MBA hotshot who went through those Leader Programs. ATT was big on Leadership. Leadership with zero experience and a history of inefficiency leads to disasters. I always dumped the ATT Stock match in the 401K every quarter. The latest pop in share price will be short lived as you cannot cut your way to success. The ship has too many leaks in it.

All I can say and do is this: do your best, put in the time and effort and try to makrle the world a better place We have limited spans of control. Yes, this company is being misled by sociopaths. We still have a job to do. If things get worse, carry on and try to do the best. Life's a series of ambiguous challenges. Try to pass the test. Fu-k 'the man'. We are judged on our own decisions, not what Stankey and Legg fu-k up.

I got sla-ghtered in the past with att stock. I would never invest in this company.

Never invest in your employer unless it’s a company like Apple, Nvidia, etc

Not to mention ATT retains the many Karen Bass that they have hired over the years which as their concentration of the remaining employees base grows more rapidly will only accelerate the collapse of ATT. "Leadership Programs"
