What are contractors not required to RTO

This question should be asked in every meeting. I venture there are probably as many contractors as employees working at T. There are contractors with many years of service here, and in some cases holding key positions. I know that we all understand the real reason for RTO and therefore contractors are not being squeezed. To align with leadership's reason for RTO, this is a legitimate question and would be a safe way to challenge the decision / reason and watch these id--ts give some lame reason.

There is zero doubt that the
OP is the same guy that has the intense hatred toward any employees that are still classified NVW. Now he’s focusing on people that aren’t even employees. Pretty soon he will be demanding people employed by other companies have to RTO to T offices with him.

Not true - but not worth much more of a response considering your view - it's supposed to be all about collaboration -- if really true, all contributors should be collaborating - not reason to exclude based on one's designation.

They aren't employees silly
Because they are contractors, not employees.

Hey losers - when you consider the reported purpose for RTO is collaboration -- employee vs non-employee is irrelevant.

Contractors haven't been asked to RTO because the plan is to replace most of them with Indian employees. No point finding space for them in crowded offices.

This isn't speculation. They've said this, repeatedly.

Well, if managers unionized we could negotiate worker protections that should include terms that dictate no T employees can be laid off prior to contractors.

Right now, we have nothing. They can do whatever they want because divided we are powerless. United we are strong.

“ I have covid and a moderate case at that. See you in the office on Monday. See how it goes both ways?”

Please do get back to work. Covid is an excuse for the weak, fat and lazy.

And here is the answer.

Because we can do what we want. There is no law being broken. Your feelings aren’t used the rationalize our decision making.this is about money. The contractors don’t get benefits.

If the jealousy is eating you up, quit and get hired at one of our contractor companies.

Problem solved.

Because contractors have to be productive.

you are rto because T wants to account for all of its employees. There is not enough work for everybody and will be reducing headcount once all employees are accounted for.

You should get rid of contractors first in a downsizing. Not only is it the right thing to do it’s cheaper as they are due no severance.

Excellent question.
There isn’t enough room to even adequately support badged T employees due to RTO.

Contractors will be asked to return to the office in later phases after the employee base is rightsized. Currently, there isn’t enough room to support contractors in the office.

I asked that very question because a number of my key partners are contractors who are remote. I got a bunch of BS like they don’t have the same benefits so they don’t have the same rules and other cr-p. Fact is that at prior employers it was absolutely common for contractors to come to the office. They would just wear a different color badge and may not have access to all amenities. Any excuses used here are complete and utter BS. Contractors should be on site just like us.
