Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Erosion of benefits over time

Personally, I don't have any hopes that the erosion of benefits will stop. Fortunately, I'm leaving soon and I haven't wasted too much time in this disorganized company. I can't wait to submit my resignation. Purely out of curiosity, a question for those who have been here for a long time: how much have the benefits eroded since you got the job here?

Benefits. What benefits? T offers benefits? First I've heard the term benefits & att used in the same sentence. OK I give.
Whats the punchline?

The benefits may have eroded, but I don't blame just AT&T. Citizens United has led to a bribed Congress enacting the most expensive health regime in the world, in the name of increasing corporate profits - shareholder value.

We know that AT&T has bungled financially, and our benefits are downstream from the company's financial health. But that is exacerbated by an inflation in health care much higher than general inflation of the course of the last two decades. So, I blame both components, the company, and the politicians that have brought us the most expensive health system in the world.

I've watched them erode for a while now. There really isn't any reason to stay strictly for retirement anymore. If you're happy with other factors and pay then hey, it's a job. That's all it is...

I am a retiree, the only benefit left for retirees is a $15K death benefit, and healthcare for part B and part D supplemental funding. Unless you opt for the soon to be in 2024 - 2028, group Medicare advantage plan. Starting in 2029 Its very likely T will not offer any healthcare insurance.
