I expected meets and got my expectation....even if I got IM during my mid year...I didn't expect the 1:1 for year end on the 10th

It's rank and yank without the rank. They want to appear objective, but they are not. At least the early rank and yank systems (at GE) had six sigma KPI metrics floating around.
Ratings have been we-ponizes since Shart came along. They have little to do with comp. You wouldn't get a penny more merit budget if every member of your team was a consistently exceeds. The only conclusion one can draw from the execs obsession with forcing low ratings is that it's nothing more than a tool to tank morale and motivate people to quit. Recognizing employees with accurate ratings costs the company NOTHING, and yet they refuse. It's detestable bevior from the worst kind of ivory tower snobs.
I got meets at mid year but my manager had to fight for my exceeds, my job is about numbers and they can’t lie compared to the rest of the team!
Congrats. ,eats is the current day equivalent to a “4” rating from pre-Shart
90% of the company is Meets.
Meets, the rating that HR says is a great rating for a high performer, but no one ever challenges or demands justification.
Our "leaders" are habitual liars.
Sounds like OP got an Intermittently Meets during the mid-term review.
OP then pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and got a Meets during the year-end review.
Good for you OP
Maybe try doing this again but In English next time
Obviously communications are not an important part of your duties...
What are you talking about?
