first and foremost is job role or title they have. most folks says I am laid off and doing Project manager role or Product owner role or QA role or admin or Director or VP role. how on earth its specialty job. we are talking about scientist or new aerodynamics research type work. companies keep doing wrong thing to save money and hire anyone but when someone is knocking door they will course correct.
second most issue is wage. Most folks complain they are making anywhere between 80k to 110k in San Jose/NYC/LA/San Diego/NJ ( like high cost living cities). That's level 1 wage or lower.
basically if you combine your job role and wage ( with tasks you perform day to day) will tell you why folks are laid off.

For our jobs at least, if WFC couldn’t hire any H1B’s that would probably just end up being even more jobs they send overseas. At least H1B’s spend a good portion of their income in our economy.
Wells Fargo doesn’t have many H1B employees. The BIG problem for Wells Fargo is jobs outsourcing to India. Terrible for domestic workers.
