Google about India Black Money economy, it explains why you don’t see company startups in India and cause of cheap labor.

Cost is just an excuse! Turn IBM into an Indian company instead.
AK must go!

I doubt if anybody from the Fred Brooks era still has influence over the modern IBM. The current management went against Brooks' writings in "The Mythical Man-Month" when they were seduced by the numbers. They thought (and still do) that they could fire some highly paid and highly accomplished engineers (who happened to be in the west) for masses of cheap labor (who happen to be in the east). They saw those magical ratios of 7 to 1, 8 to 1, 12 to 1, and went native.

It didn't work in the 1960s when Brooks managed OS/360, and it doesn't work today. There's a cool scene in a James Bond movie (I won't mention the name to avoid the auto censor) where Bond is in the back of an auto rickshaw racing through some Indian street. He tosses rupees out the back onto the street to avoid the as-----n who is chasing him, and the locals all pile into the street to collect the free money.

That's where IBM is at today...it's nothing more than a money grab. No more, no less. I wouldn't expect it to accomplish much beyond that.

"When I was RA I spoke to the team lead in India and told me how much he made annually They were able to hire 7 in India and have money left over and my co worker on the UNIX side making more then me they were able to hire 8 in India and have money left over."
Yet no businesses are created in India.
You think an entrepreneur in India would take advantage of this incredibly cheap and talented labor. Not to mention these workers then could own a piece of that company.
It would probably greatly benefit their community too.
Something doesn't add up here.

whatever this failing path is it is going to end
the US is 37 trillion in debt and a bloody mess
from lowering school standards, to the ridiculous fire in LA, to the astronauts stuck in space, to the Boeing planes falling apart, the US is going to break apart
i wonder what the previous middle class is going to do and who they are going to hold accountable
the hacks on top of corporate america are skillless, so this will be interesting

What was anyone expecting? Corporate America has left their future in the hands of foreigners. Did you see IBM Software reorg? All the big VPs (about 10), but 2 ppl are from India, including of course the head of Software. They have grown so powerful that not even the optics matter anymore.
