Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Exceeds

My boss told me I will get exceeds but raise is only 4% and bonus is only 23%. Is it normal?

Would bonuses increase if the # of managers and diretors were reduced? Asking for a friend at P4.

I work in Technology and have a flat bonus- 10k, not a percentage. Is that because I’m a newer hire? 10 or 12% would be better.

@OP what did you get last year?

Bonus has to come the pool so someone is getting lower to get exceeds higher. There isn’t much discretion with allocation once the ratings is stacked and aligned.

Promotion this year have 5% merit increase where person in fairly compensated at new level.

I don't get why my @b8 post is getting downvoted. It's what I got for being an exceeds and being significantly below market rate. How about all you down-voters consider that I was underpaid for years prior to that.

WRT percentages: The highest "posted on teamworks" bonus target I've ever seen in a job requisition was 15%, so people with numbers above that are obviously in a unique position.

"Double digit bonuses are normal. You are getting the short end of the bonus pool so others can get more."

Well, I have been at the same bonus level and nowhere near these numbers you guys are posting.

After decades here, it has been a steady 1-2% merit and 12% bonus pool.

Got an exceeds two years ago, 17% merit, near double bonus target. Zero merit since even though I do the bulk of work on my team.

A little eye opening that some people don't realize that. I think my bonus was around 45% last year and I'm certainly not a senior leader.

First, comp numbers haven't been released. Your manager can say what they submitted but changes may have been made further up the chain.

Second, bonus percent by itself is meaningless. Your level AND your last year bonus percent are the primary drivers of this year's bonus. Having an Exceeds obviously helps but in theory a person could be needs improvement and still get a 100% bonus. Conversely, a person could get Exceeds and see no bonus or a very small bonus (like 5%).

4% is higher than the targets we were given for Meets. Seems in the general expected range of Exceeds.

@at way to announce that you're in a very senior role, with a bonus structure that most employees could only dream of.

@aq+1jhk2ky3y Not true. According to Employer Handbook performance communication happens now until end of the month. Payout is mid February.

I received 5% raise last year for Meet. 25% bonus. You should question your boss.

4% seems about right for merit.

There are too many variables about the bonus. Some receive 5% and some receive 100%

Some managers have told people, but they are taking a gamble in case they make last minute changes

Never heard of double digit bonuses going out.
Or, OP must be in a commissioned base or sales area.

I got Needs Improvement, but I'll get a 30% raise since I'm the CEO.
