Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Att network guarantee is a lie.

They are cutting the network maintenance budget instead. The ad campaign is to distract you from that fact. It is obvious.

Had a huge outage in Louisiana the day the guarantee came out. Havent heard if this new BS "guarantee" covered it.

Cmon, everyone knows this just PR nonsense. As other said, the actual guarantee isn't worth the paper its printed on, all sorts of fine print exclusions , its just a lame marketing attempt.

Companies like T are braindead when it comes to marketing and customer churn, you don't have to be a data analyst to know most customers care about decent service but are much more price conscious.. How about a Guarantee not to raise you rates for the next 5 years.

Love how they throw stats saying how many people love guarantees.

How about "how many people love T-Mobile more than AT&T no matter what this phoney guarantee says"?

Only the urban areas get the wireless guarantee, unless the outage is huge. My son's college town is about 30,000 people (plus an influx of 20k -25k during the school year) but only served by 8 cell towers. So they could have an outage that affects a town of up to 55,000 and the guarantee would mean nothing. You pay the same, but you aren't treated the same if you are in a small town or rural area.

“ Network maintenance budget? You mean air pressure on old copper cables? T is disavowing those. To the C suite, they don’t exist anymore.”

In my area it’s not just AP that doesn’t exist anymore. After they fibered this area the telco trucks have disappeared. Old timers who remembers 2-3 week Service Emergencies declared if an ant took a leak on some of that old rotten copper. And if a contractor hits a fiber it is restored within a few hours. No telco technicians working 24/7 for days on end to restore service.

The Guarantee is most likely a a pre-emptive PR campaign set in place to deal with angry customers for when they finally reveal T has been compromised by the Chinese hacking group, Salt Typhoon. No one is talking too loudly about it because there is a NDR in place.

Bless your heart thinking advertising tells the truth. You are soooooo cute!

Gotta' go! I'm off to tow a space shuttle with my pickup while my cat fetches sticks I throw into a pond. Out riding motorcycles with Flo, I'll stop in that Taco Bell that's inside a football player's house and see if "6" is still the alarm code at the Cleveland Browns' stadium, or if they changed it after Baker Mayfield moved out.

What? AT&T lying? Your kidding. It’s in the SBC DNA. Remember snake oil Eddie. Yup, he started the T dumpster fire that RJS and Stink fueled with the reputations of great companies like BellSouth, Ameritech and Cingular.

The guarantee has so many outs for us. There's legalized fine print all over it. Wireless outage must impact 10 towers. 9 towers are not enough? If weather related or natural disaster, blame god. All we have to say is sorry, bro - only 8 towers were out and a third party did it. Pay your bill, stupid.

It will never be ATT's fault.

No one ever needed a slogan to convince people of something that was true.
