Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What percentage of Develop You does not pertain to your job?

I am just amazed how much they make me test on something that has NOTHING to do with what I do.

What I find really annoying is how they spread these EKOD’s throughout the whole year. So, if you’re not checking “Discover You” every single day, then your manager will get notified That you missed your EKOD deadline…
So let me share how this is hindering my productivity. Each day I want to be thinking about my work, but in the back of my mind, I know I better check the Discover You site in case I have a new EKOD. Hence, my creative juices just dried up for the day. Some will tell me, why don’t you check the DY at the end of the day? Because I wake up every day, thinking the company is going to stick it to me And that I need to CYA.
Can you please just give us all the EKODs on Jan 1, each year??? Of course not! They’ll save the last EKOD for December 31st just to stick it to the team…

Some tw@twaffle in L&D clearly gets perverse pleasure in making these way more complicated than they need to be.
It is like living in a Dilbert cartoon and Groundhog Day every. damn. day.

They are ridiculous. All of the required clicking and stupid errors saying you need to scroll and read the whole page when you are clearly at the bottom of the page are endlessly annoying. I realize it is the one-size-fits all approach, but the level of detail to which I am expected to know regulations when I have zero interactions with customers and/or customer data is insane.

Someone is making a lot of money that is developing these classes.

I miss the good old days where they would pull us all into a conference room, wheel in the tv cart and make us watch a video, post which we signed a document indicating we watched it.

And if you fail it a number of times, your manager is notified. 🙄

Electronic knowledge on demand? That’s my guess.

"EKOD"? Not sure what that means.

Not sure if everyone has to take the one of bribes and dealing with foreign govt officials etc but what joke. There’s a “confirmed” laptop with incriminating evidence with emails, fbi whistle blowers saying they were told to set it aside, 43 some house members on both side not filing the proper paperwork on stock trades. Yet we are required to take this training by the govt to get out from under the asset cap but yet our elected officials are probably the worst “lead by example” there could be

it is for compliance and all those regulatory consent order. We have to train all staff on certain topics regardless of your actual day to day responsibilities.

Well, I did spend 10 months in a customer-facing call center a few decades ago. Haven't really needed much of it since then.

Why do they need to be so computerized/graphic intensive? I spend more time trying to click through just to get to the end. For example, it seems like different groups are creating different EKOD’s, Because many of the designs are different. Not very intuitive, either. I might report this as an ADA complaint…
Just make it black and white, like we see in a paperback book.
Also, tired of all the images of people they use. Eye pollution. Some people I wish I could unsee.

100% agree

The other issue I have with those EKOD’s is that they spread them out throughout the year. Just give them all to us in January so we can get through them and get on with the real business.
