Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Where do you look for another job?

All the major banks are going through cuts, and honestly, I’m not seeing much of a difference between them when it comes to working conditions and career prospects. They all seem to be turning into virtual sweatshops, with high turnover rates becoming the norm. I’ve tried exploring other options, but I'm running out of ideas. After nearly two decades in banking, I’m starting to wonder how far our resumes can really take us. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I was offered a job not too long ago at a small bank. Managed to negotiate my start date to early March so I would get the bonus. Small banks are hiring, so are the larger regional ones. Fully remote, too, despite decent pay cut, which is fine with me as I am not too far from retirement.

The whole point of layoffs and fake job postings is to demoralize the jobseeker into taking lower paying jobs. This is what class warfare looks like.

Check out aerospace. They have tons of cash due to our war mongering government and their expense accounts are usually large. I used to work for one that gave us free suite tickets all the time. We would have team building events regularly. They were nice events too.
Then I came to Wells and learned our director pays out of his own pocket to take us out to dinner when he’s in town.

Supply chain, warehousing Write down your skills, the things that you have learned. Then submit them to an AI and have it give you recommendations. Prompt: I am a "personal banker" who's learned teller duties and loan management but see no future in banking. I am dealing with bullying managers, overwork, and poorly managed applications by offshored staff. I am considering leave banking. What should I consider when looking for a new job?

if you are planning on leaving, start looking NOW. the market is very, very saturated and it is taking a very, very long time for folks to find a job that is even close to what you have (and make) at WF. remember, WF, typically, pays a lot more than other places (not all areas w/in WF obviously - i know some areas that are underpaid) for the professional level jobs.
being "displaced" sounds really great when you have a job, but once you are let go the reality sets in. unfortunately we all have to have jobs and its not an easy market right now.

Work for any corporation and you'll get abused. It's built into the charter nowadays.

Banks have always been terrible places to work compared to brokerage firms or investment banking. The problem is, these investment type of firms now all fall under banks.
