Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Hey Robin, AI cost savings idea

Robin,
Why not use AI to get rid of some of the obese bloated salaries in Tech that are duplicates and overlap? How hard are these jobs and why can’t we use AI to get what they do weekly and their human decisions formulated. Then leverage other managers to carry out human tasks that are solved and answered. This top down approach should be far easier to do than complex tech related tasks or auto code generators. Then, having accomplished that, we could move on to collapse many roles in L2-L3-L4 and even L-5 levels and have a single managerial layer instead of multi layers…. Call it project ‘Goldbrick’ which rhymes after a known living failed ‘case study’. Or ‘Project AI Slim Management Pie’ . We would save tens of millions in salary and tens of millions in lost project cap $$ due to bad/ conflicting leaders. We would eliminate waste and have better operating budget streamlining and make better use of technical skilled people on projects. Then, rewards, merit increases and bonuses can better match the people doing the work. Put the layoffs and reductions where they belong Robbie! And then put the merits and bonuses where they are earned Rockin’ Robbie…. Town hall this concept!!!

@d6+1jhnzjcsg I'm in tech here, AI can't replace us because AI is worthless. It's a hot craze being pushed because that's what the shareholders want to hear. AI isn't going anywhere but the tech uninformed think it's the 2nd coming of Christ.

I have a better idea - let's use Artificial Intelligence to replace Robin, the EC, and the Board! Better to have Artificial Intelligence running this bank, than no intelligence at all!

How about if executives at the top with the bloated bonuses and salaries make decisions rather than constantly hiring over priced consultants to do their jobs for them
