For those who’ve requested it, how long does it typically take to receive your lump sum severance payout after submitting the request? I know the form says it can take up to 60 days but I heard from an old peer who got theirs the following month. Is it likely to get paid quicker than promised?
Note: this is for folks who are currently in their severance period and are choosing to end the bi-weekly payments, not those in notice period.
I requested mine 12/13/24 in hopes of pulling into the 2024 tax year. But kindly it was paid on 1/3/25.
Emailed the form 12/23 got lump sum in 1/17 paycheck.

and whatever it is taxed at will be sorted out come next April once they know your actual taxable income for 2025
And it will be taxed 40%
