Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

New Incentive and merit system

Process is broken.

Meet expectations, sh-t incentive and no merit. Somehow, expect me to put extra effort in 2025? 2 years in a row, same BS.

Right, keep waiting for my extra effort.

I’m a manager and my merit was less than my direct reports.

Go ask the Analysts you're incentizing and giving merit, to do the work. You will get from me the zero, equal to the merit you gave me.

This Bank has gone to sh-t

Same....40+ years in this place and my first zero raise. 35 years ago I was on corrective action and STILL got a raise.
There is just no incentive to do anything beyond the bare minimum anymore.

To add insult to injury, while most wont get merit or even bonuses, they had the audacity to give all their analysts who just started in august (approx 400 of them) $2500 bonuses. They're literally in training still and the worst, most lazy individuals I've ever had to deal with.

Treasury Services is all over the place. It’s a mess. Some got 20 percent (typically younger, inexperienced, less than 5 years with the company) while making no real contribution.

Others (tenured employees, SMEs, heavily relied upon for complex projects) got 2 percent while performing multiple jobs.

Out of interest, what bonus amount are people getting for 'exceeds expectations'?
