Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Fidelity and DEI

With all the major companies and even the FBI dismantling their DEI departments for ineffectiveness and division, do you think Fidelity will get rid of theirs?

Being a private company it will take longer. This has been the stupidest program that has ever been implemented! Interesting how many institutions have jumped on this death wish bandwagon so fast like a cult. It creates a very toxic work environment. It’s humiliating to watch people way over their head who actually think they are doing a great job.

To the person who said there’s not a white male privilege is obviously a low level employee or no longer at the firm. I literally had a white male boss who said women at the firm always cause problems. He’s still a manager fyi. DEI trainings just made people aware we are being discriminated against due to our gender.

At least fidelity hiring will stop the better pay for being g-y promotions. I can’t tell you how many people I saw that were promoted without qualifications, weren’t good at their jobs, but also happened to be openly g-y and that’s all they talked about.

I’m a white male, some would say dim-witted, touched, or not the brightest bulb. Yet, in spite of my shortcomings and my whiteness, I’ve had a great career at Fidelity. I call bs on anyone who says there is white male discrimination.

Anyone rallying around the DEI banner should just say that they either don't understand what it is or that they like being bigoted.

It really is that simple.

No one should object to treating others as you'd wish to be treated.

Nope. It’s here to stay. Just like everything else, it will take on a different name or acronym in the future. Talk to anyone there with more than 20+ years and ask how many call models they’ve had. The end result will be the same. Equity is here to stay. Good bye opportunity.

The last comment was funny “butch.” I think Fidelity recruiting should be investigated for establishing quotas on hiring non-white males. It has been openly pervasive! In fact, reparations might be considered for the many white males that weren’t hired, were (and are) being suppressed in terms of their career progress or were let go by the company over the last 20 years. Pure discrimination. Fidelity was built on meritocracy…what happened? Studies have been done that the 3rd generation usually ruins the family business. Harvard education I guess. Try not following the herd and going back to your roots.

It seems like it is being phased out. Fidelity is just too large to make fast changes.

It would be great if this site operated as intended and you could come here and get an inside scope on the state of working within Fidelity.
Sadly, like the rest of the internet this site has been taken over by trolls, many have never worked at Fidelity or know squat about the company. There just come here to post cr-p and have themselves a nice little giggle.
