Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Pension / benefits sc--wed for under 55

If you are under 55, you don't even qualify for a Z plan as you are not eligible for pension benefits. Sigh.

That's what's called a double whammy. Thank you very little!!

Ford gives you no loyalty, why would you show loyalty to them when you retire? Buy a vehicle that is within your price range and quality made (pretty sure Ford will not be on your list with that criteria.

Pension plans ended in any hires after Jan. 1st 2004. XYZ plans are not what they used to be and then dealers try to "work" magic on vehicles they can sell elsewhere.

Worked for 27 years at Ford. Spent a lot of time benchmarking Toyota. I retired in 2018 and have full availability of PINs. First vehicle purchased post retirement was a Subaru my wife wanted. Second vehicle was a Toyota for myself.

I learned a lot as an engineer at Ford.

You worked hard for your hard earned money. Bye whatever vehicles you like, drive whatever you like. If a company forced you to buy their products because you work for them, then you shouldn't work there anymore. They don't have good products that people want or need.

Buy what you like. Drive what you like. It's a free country.

Vehicle plans used to be a good deal and everybody wanted a pin... nobody cares anymore.

Why would you buy a Ford if you left the company?

Why would you buy one of you worked here??
