Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Time in Office Report

I head from someone that they were tracking our badges when we leave the building somehow, does anyone know if that's true? Just trying to get an understanding of the presence report if anyone has more details.

The report states it is tracking your WiFi or LAN connection, but I haven’t seen evidence of that yet.

This is true. They installed a service that reports your login id and IP back every so often. From that, they can tell if you are in the office or at home.

It is real easy. Let me spell it out for you folks.

Go to work !

Really it is that simple and you will be fine. It is a shame that there are actually managers on here. Go home like Joe if you don't like it.

Are they tracking the number of hours via LAN? I guess that’s how they know that you left the building..

“Someone in NJ won a lawsuit due to tracking being inaccurate”

Isn’t fitting that ATT would create a tool to track hours in office but it’s so bad it failed and they incorrectly fired someone for it?

They were actually sued and lost in court because of it.

I could have to predicted this outcome with 100% certainty.

I hope for more resignations. It saves the rest of us our jobs. We don’t mind RTO.

HR has entered the chat. NOBODY likes RTO.

"I hope for more resignations. It saves the rest of us our jobs. We don’t mind RTO."

Yes you do. You're just not good enough to find a job elsewhere so you hope you can keep your job by doing the only thing your good at, being compliant.

" moose so they can look and see why there's a discrepancy. "

A lot of groups don't use MOOSE

There are offices in Chicago that you have to badge out. Just wait for someone to leave and go behind them.

Just make sure that you're in the office when you're supposed to be and if you're not that inforis updated with the reason(ill, vacay, volunteer day, care day, etc) depending upon your management if something weird goes on or you have to be at home for half a day make sure it's updated in moose so they can look and see why there's a discrepancy.

For this example-
If you are supposed to be in office 5 days and you;

  • PTO one day
  • In office the other four days

You will get 100% for the week

Same rules for 3 and 4 day requirement.

The ONLY way to miss a day of your “required” office presence and still show as 100% compliant is to be coded appropriately in Infor.

@a2+1 "So if you work from home one day you might as well skip the whole week you get a 0% anyway."

If you schedule a half day vacation, how does the report count that day? In the previous environment, if you were out on vacation for 3 days of a week the report showed that you were not able to attain the minimum and excluded you from the report. Is the new report the same way . . . if you have one vacation day of a 5 requirement does the report count you as ineligible for that week since you could not obtain the minimum requirement?

They've been tracking VPN usage for the last 10+ years, and only pay attention to it once it's time to "remove costs from the business"

Current report shows days badged into an AT&T facility and if that facility is the one you are assigned to in webphone.

The report allows your supervisor to adjust for 3,4 or 5 days in office according to your BU’s requirements.

It uses Infor time reporting to determine if you are on PTO, FMLA, Caregiver, Disability….etc.

If you have no time coded to be “absent” the report looks for you to have badged in to the office.

The report states it is tracking your WiFi or LAN connection, but I haven’t seen evidence of that yet. All of my employees have a AT&T id, so I haven’t had to rely on the office “connection” alone to determine presence.

The report we are currently provided does NOT show hours in office or stipulate that a certain number of hours is required.

The attainment for the report is measured weekly rather than daily.

Meaning- if you are required to be in office 5 days but you miss a day for whatever reason other than an approved time code in Infor the report gives you a 0% for the week.

So if you work from home one day you might as well skip the whole week you get a 0% anyway.

Hope this helps.

Most places you don’t badge “out”. So while the badge swipes in or any swipe in throughout the day is monitored, they can’t tell exactly when you leave by badge swipe. This is why they are starting to focus on time plugged in on the LAN.
