Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Just how long do you expect us to wait?

Change is needed. Management says as much and admits it. Yet there is no action. Just how long does management expect us to wait before we all walk out and leave them amine with no one to manage.

The exit survey is just to confirm you aren't going to sue the company. There are no questions to understand why you left. It is also optional and up to your supervisor to decide if they send it out. Why do people still believe the company cares of we quit?

@1zwt+1ji0CJ04 I never had an exit interview when I left. They just seemed happy that they had a head count reduction.

Anyone that thinks this company is changing in the short term is delusional..

Amy advise to colleagues was if I was 40 or younger, I’d be getting out of this s*** show. If you’re 40-45 or older, you might just need to suck it up and get a jar of Vas---ne.

Seems like they even stopped the Exit Survey, so that shows how interested they are in why people are leaving

Stop being deluded. The corp actively wants people to leave and they pretty much don’t care how or even what CL. Why would they pay more ? If attrition is acceptable then logic would suggest that the comp/benefits strategy is fit for purpose.
The sooner we as employees realise this the better we will feel. EM of old (expats/travel/real career advancement) is long gone.

There will be no fixing compensation, benefits, or the assessment process. Stop waiting.

They don't expect you to wait, they expect you to leave.

TG needs to do her PDS first, where she shows that she reduced global headcount ahead of schedule.

Only the fools will wait and expect positive change. Nothing positive has come from management in years… what kind of signs are you looking for????

There's no chance of change. The corporations is making record profit, which validates DW's actions in the eyes of the board and the loudest shareholders. The only possibility of change is when it starts overtly affecting revenue generation. The seeds for that are planted, but it'll take time to grow.

Better start packing if you think they will change. Managers are untouchable and the place is infected with pathetic managers abusing their power.

I find that most people that leave are happy, empowered and feel valued. Sounds wonderful. Moving on may be than living under the regime of EM.

My own personal timeline is 1 year. The company gets 1 year to fix benefits, salary, and to have some real deep reflection on the culture-fit of some of their managers. I think that is pretty generous.
