We all know the mantra: Don’t cut maintenance. It will bite you, big time, down the road. But some hotshots do it anyway, and hope they have been promoted before their site breaks down.

People are the same way.

The attrition we are seeing now is not easily fixed. It will bleed and bleed the organization for years. We cannot rehire the same talent and training for the same money. We also cannot hire when we are recognized as the black sheep of culture. The business is slowly being gutted, we won’t realize the mistake for another couple years…..and when we do, it will be hard and expensive to fix. And that is in addition to any issues lack of experience cause at our production sites.

These repeated claims that they benchmark our industry is a joke. We all know it. We have a 20% data inflow from attrition, remember.

On benchmarking: You are hiring contractors who are incompetent AND they are giving you a biased view in order to cater to your cost-cutting desires. This is not an off-the-cuff comment. We actually know these contracting companies and see the awful work/support they provide in other company functions. So yeah, your benchmarking is bad. We know it. You know it. Stop hiding behind it.
