Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv does not deserve good employees

I'm stuck here because I've become unmarketable in the meantime. That's my mistake.
However, I'm surprised that there are still many talented people with great skills working here who could find a much better job elsewhere. How do you explain that they are still here?

I stayed around a lot longer than I should have simply because my kids were in local schools, and I didn't want to uproot them from family and friends....which was a distinct possibility, given the nature of my skillset and the paucity of local jobs in that field.

So, I understand not wanting to leave. But Fiserv really did me a favor in getting me off my posterior and looking for a job in another state. Sure, it was an adjustment, but we are all better off.

Because despite it all we still care about the clients and our co workers, relationships forged over decades of hard work. It has an end point, some of us are just not there yet.

They can get a better job at any time. Might as well watch the train crash from the inside and see how bad it actually gets. Plus you might get severance and a mini-vacation before you start your next job. It is like getting paid by two companies at the same time.

Because they're being lied to and they believe what management is telling them
