8 ways to deal with inflation

Amazing article. I never thought about using my credit card rewards, getting a second job or haggling with my memberships at the Gym. Great advice!

You know what's not on this list? Cost of living increases. Seems like the company is able to charge more for rates and money is now making more money than anytime in the last 20 years....but nah, reconsider your large purchases and live off credit card rewards.

Strong McDonald's vibes with these suggestions.

Company is normally tone deaf, but this is insulting.

They know work from home would make us happy and might actually increase production and give us an advantage against other banks but schart wants to copy what ever Jamie Dimon does so he can feel cool. He’s a follower and has no testosterone of his own.

WFH would be a good way to fight inflation.

Horrible and tone deaf. Are people that out of touch or are they signaling that this is how we’re addressing inflation so you know where you stand at WFC. I did get one good tip. If I can’t afford my daily expenses I should just buy an extra $1,000/month in stuff so I can get $30 back. Brilliant strategy! If I spend a million dollars I don’t have, imagine how rich I’ll be!

Great, I will just redeem my credit card cash rewards of about ~$50 /month to pay for gas at $6.50 /gallon thanks for the tip WF! You’re better off just shoving it all the way in next time!

The gold standard haha! Time to take a break from the board, no sense debating with folks that couldn’t pass Econ 101

@htt If you're arguing for a return to the gold standard, you have no clue what the economic implications of that would be. You think a recession is bad, a return to the gold standard would be worse than the depression.

Wow. No self awareness at all. Everyone involved in thinking of this, creating it and approving it should be fired post haste.

Inflation is the increase of supply of currency. Prices are a symptom. The best ways to deal with inflation:

Return to the gold standard. Connect currency and money again.
Orderly elimination of fractional reserve banking, the system by which commercial banks such as ours create the vast majority of money supply through debt issuance.
Avoid central bank digital currencies.

LOL “Reduce gas consumption” BY LIMITING HOW MANY TIMES YOU RUN ERRANDS???

But using gas to come to the office, no don’t worry just keep doing that.

Also the very first suggestion is a shameless plug for their own credit card. Wow

  1. The only way to deal with almost 10 percent average inflation in 2022 is increase your employees salaries to at least match the inflation!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that freaking email and thought how id--tic it was. "Use your Wells Fargo Credit Card more to fight inflation". Genius. Why didn't I think of that?!?! Marketing should be embarrassed of themselves for approving that.
