The total number doesn't change because people in I&P increase as Americans are eliminated. In 2011 we had 259,000 Americans working at WFC. How about now?
I know first hand we have several hundred separations here - every week. This org is very large - 222k or so - people die, people get other jobs, they get fired or simply don't show up anymore. If you notice in the 4 qtr earnings slide show, head count has barely moved.
Layoffs every Tuesday after a payday. Groundbreaking stuff here.
