Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Many of us still believe that hard work pays off

That’s the problem. A normal person isn't a grifter. They derive satisfaction from professional achievement—doing their job well, growing in their field, and being fairly compensated. They expect, rightly, to be recognized as both a person and a professional. But there’s little room for normal people anymore. So, treat the company accordingly: as a disposable paycheck dispenser that deserves no respect and no extra effort. The less you invest, the less you’ll regret when you part ways.

43 .. go fall into a tar pit.
There is no job safety here. No mutual help and growth climate. No mentoring. No positivity. No leadership.
Please stop your cyber diarr-hea here. It’s being ignored.

It’s about presence, not performance. Show up, sit down, put on your headset, and you’ll be rewarded as well, or better, than the fool logging in extra hours to complete deadline driven tasks, being interrupted to answer questions from other employees or managers, and being told to train others because they are a SME.
