Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Worst times in the company

I haven't been here for long and I have no interest in staying much longer. I'm already looking for new opportunities because I don't like the general atmosphere in the company at all. I'm interested in whether there have ever been more difficult times for employees here or is this definitely one of the worst?

By far the worst. Piling on the work of those that got let go out guy feed up and left, and threaten more layoffs if anyone balks.

If you're employed at Ford and you're not looking for another job, you're stupid.

The 2006 - 2009 was a terrible time to be Ford employee too.

Definitely the worst of times. Far worse than the Jack the kn--e era. My brother recently got cut from Ford Credit IT. He started a new job with 20K increase, he is so happy now. He did not realize how much stress he was under at work. A coworker (Ford IT) quit and received 30K increase. He told us he was amazed to learn that not all companies have a toxic environment. Ford was his first job out of college so he just assumed the Ford culture was normal. Sometimes you can find non-toxic pockets at Ford, but in general it is one messed up work environment. Watch some of the videos of Farley meetings that have been circulating and you will see that it is toxic top down.
