Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

5 day RTO is just a matter of time

If AT&T is doing it, there's no doubt in my mind we'll be next. Prepare, folks. This is our future.

@tbz I work here too, I had heard rumblings about 3x/week but the news about the new campus at 2 Penn Plaza was a shock. I personally hate that area and it'll add at least 30 more minutes to my commute.

100% of people that work from home are stealing from their respective companies and should be fired.

Please, that’s all a figment of your imagination. All properties still meet the
capacity & safety codes for occupancy.

You’ll just have to deal with smaller & smarter work stations/work areas.

Your entitlement grievance excuse list just keeps getting shorter & shorter & shorter. . . . .

June 23rd, bookmark this. The current debate is 3 verses 4 days per week for anyone with hybrid designation. There are discussions also underway in which groups can be converted to at-home to keep from overcrowding buildings at capacity. HR has been converting their employees. If you need to be redesignated to at home see your manager immediately before they lock out the ability.

People don't get just how many locations do not have a hub to even go back to any more. Forcing re-loc etc isn't gonna happen for current roles. You'll see it become standard for new positions that open up in the band 6 area I'm sure, that'll it be part of the job req, but VZW started going home-based back in 2016, well before covid. The company has seen both record profits and cash flow and during this time, LESS people were working from the office. I can understand the 2-3 days for some positions, but the reality is (since a lot of us are virtual anyways), it's just going to a different building to just get on a webex regardless of being RTO. It's all silly and should just be a topic left to let die off and not be spoken into existence.

Stop with this. It’s not happening. Most building can’t support full RTO. We sold off too many. And if you don’t want to RTO full time. Quit…..it’s really simple. But don’t worry. It’s not happening. Most people today are not looking for jobs they are totally in the office. Maybe some H1bs will, but they are going away soon.

You can rationalize all you want with "studies show". WFH only benefits the scammers while destroying in-person social interaction. Remember, "studies show" the COVID jab prevents and stops the spread. You all know that was false studies. Buckle up snow flakes... RTO is coming. VZ will be cutting more jobs this year. You shouldn't give them a reason to cut your job over RTO. Good luck...

Lots of remotes and hybrids who have become 2-3 day RTOs are swiping in and then boogeying after a few hours by avoiding the days when the managers are around. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Let me fix that for you.

“This a fact, full work from home has already happened. Studies have shown that WFH emI'tployees are 70% more productive than in the office. This holds true in Verizon too, anyone who has been here for the last 5-6 years can attest on how much more organized things have been since WFH began. . It's time to hire more work from home agents to continue receiving benefits of increased productivity.”

The original post had such horrible grammar! I left some of it in so daft people will understand.

This a fact, partial RTO has already happened. Studies have shown that WFH emI'tployees are 70% less productive then in the office. This holds true in Verizon too, anyone who has been here for the last 5-6 years can attest on how much more disorganized things have since WFH began during Covid. It's time to get people back in the office and for production to get back to normal

STOP with RTO posts, esp from @OP.

If it comes, it comes - you deal with it then.

ATT went to hub strategy a few years ago then RTO. VZ has too many home based workers to take the second step without the the first

Its always fascinating to me about how people are obssessed with RTO. Please stop comparing AT&T to Verizon. The WFH culture exists in Verizon for a VERY LONG time. Its not a covid thing...Stop trolling with RTO garbage, nobody care. Its not going to happen.

I'm a little nervous about this too. But at least in the Alpharetta office, they will have to find more space. We had 4 buildings pre-Covid, and they got rid of 3 of them. So don't believe there is enough space here in the one remaining building.

If it does go back to 5 days in, hopefully they aren't tracking number of hours in-office like AT&T does.

AT&T, the Federal Government and many other companies are going back 5 days. The writing is on the wall.
