Work Ethic

What has happened to the work ethic in this company? Some of my co-workers don’t want to RTO. You know who you are.

I was hired hybrid for almost a decade, same job, same title same coworkers. Now, you want me to drive 2hrs a day to sit in a filthy office, different desk, different fockers next to me with their loud voices etc to do the same work? T is insane to think that I will play along with this. The message is clear. T wants you out. Get out.

But that would require management to do additional work and may lead to uncomfortable conversations. No, better to blanket policy this, nice and easy.

Not everyone that WFH spends their day at Costco, sorry to break the news. Some people actually work. And I think it’s ridiculous to drive to an office just to sit in a different chair and do exactly the same thing I could do at home. Before WFH was a thing, I was in the office every day. Every day, no exceptions, for years! I earned the privilege to work from home, because I deliver, and I’m always online. Maybe the people that should be forced to RTO are the ones you can never find during the day, not dependable or not delivering. Supervisors should know who those people are.

That’s damn straight I don’t want to RTO because way this inane management implemented it means I get about 3 good work hours in. The rest is my brain being a muddled mess because of sleep deprivation having to get in earlier than a rooster in order to get parking and a desk and also because the company shoves 100 people packed tightly together and my headphones don’t block out all the Teams and personal calls all around me.

Back before we were shoved into Hunger Games search for a daily desk and packed together like sardines working in the office WAS productive: had a permanent assigned cubicle and didn’t hear the intense buzz of chatter nonstop around me.

So. Yea. I would prefer to WORK from home so I could WORK

I found out why they want us to RTO, "i love seeing all the bright shiny faces"... Meaning it's nice to be at the top and see all the people that work for you. I'm sure it's a thrill.

You are absolutely right! We can extend this framework across the entire population.

Some people commit heinous crimes. Too much effort to identify and deal with the perpetrators so prison for all!

Why in the heck would I work any harder than I absolutely have to for this shithole of a company? You get what you give.

This isn’t a new issue. Longterm abuse led to 5x8.

OP, why make a post asking a question that you already know the answer to?
Our current work ethic is directly and proportionately related to the abusive behavior and ineptitude of our morally bankrupt, unredeemable leadership. A predictable consequence when mature adult employees with families draw a line in the sand. We’ve taken enough abuse and we’re done. Did I answer your question clear enough for you?
