Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Specialty Markets are up for next year

So just heard that the plan for this year is to cut all non hubs as fast as possible so things are clear that next year specialty markets are up for cuts next year and by end of 2026 there will only be the hubs. All jobs that legal can move to india will be moved. USA hiring and back fills are on a freeze and it’s only India hiring. I know some will come and say that’s not new news and start random jokes but the purpose of sharing this is to share what you also know or at least you know ahead of time to start planning.

How many of those are retail / retail adjacent? That side of the biz won't last long.

You can deny it, or freak out about it! Neither will help or stop it from happening. Departments that are getting trimmed are on a hiring and backfill freeze, and yes India and Philippines are the priority for hiring. You can scramble through jobs in USA but don’t forget to take a look at Jobs in India and Philippines and you will see it for yourself. Whatever, this place is becoming toxic and on a self destruction mission.

...and once the specialties are gone, then they'll start closing the alleged "hubs", one by one, until we're all gone.

There are over 1000 jobs posted in the US.

Do you even think before you post? Go out and check the job postings. Tons and tons of US jobs. Now, specific areas will continue aggressive outsourcing but certainly not the entire company.

For what it's worth, in the past month 3 people in my general area left for other US positions at the bank.

US hiring is not frozen. Backfills are not frozen. This post is BS.

Well, the definition of the specialty markets is that they are just to maintain, not add or backfill.

Got to ask yourself though, if they were just a few miles away, how come they weren't coming into the office in the first place? Seems they gambles and lost with the remote exception.

Stop giving me hope that I'm getting a package.

Management needs to sh-t or get of the pot.

So folks in my team that got axed were only offered relocation to another state into a hub even though a speciality market location was few miles away from they are. What does this tell you?

I don’t know which group you are in but in my group in SF we heard the same thing. Nothing is for sure but that’s the plan and almost everyone at the office is saying I don’t expect us to be around any in the upcoming 2 years Unless something big happens.

I’m not saying I agree with the finite details of the OP, but if you think specialty markets can’t go away you’re delusional. I’m in one for CTO and nothing says “the writing on the wall” like all the other site closures. Heck, the amount of places that have been added and removed from the approved sites should tell you nothing is certain other than non-core hubs will cease to exist at some point.

Speciality markets may not go - but lower level folks will if they can hire in PH or IN -

I think I heard something similar long time ago. To be honest if India and PH keeps getting the jobs no one will be left here no matter where they are.
Speciality market are the way to keep some managers around initially but the teams they manage are gone they will be next too. This bank is run by short sighted id--ts and that’s the only thing I am sure of. I won’t be surprised that speciality markets will be gone soon too. Management knows but they act like they don’t as they don’t want to deal with the headache.

Specialty markets are not going away. That must just be for your group.

Trolling. Specialty markets are not going away. They were approved for specific hiring by certain groups.
