BTC Expats plugging staffing gaps

Lately, every time I speak with management or someone based in Houston, it seems that the solution to resourcing shortages is for management to backfill roles with BTC staff and fly them over.
Curious to hear from those BTC staff - I hope they're not just treating you guys and girls as cheap labour hire to gloss over their poor management decisions.

It would be really funny if the USA sanctioned India for investing in the Russian ExxonMobil forfeited affiliate.

Bo-m, no more BTC.

BTC employees are fine, and frankly, often better than Americans. What’s the issue? Lying to and abusing your workforce. Demoralize experienced employees by making them train cheap replacements. This kind of strategy also pits people against each other by design. But the selfish boomers that put all of this into action have retired. Leave this awful and backwards company, scientists and engineers. Analyze the data, extrapolate, and leave.

Shouldn’t you be tha kful you have BTC? The increase in share price corresponds to the increase in headcount at BTC, what would you do without them at the sites with people leaving in droves. have some respect, they are also employees afterall.

OP, duh. This is how they gain experience. There is a big push to get them out of their offices and gain meaningful experience. Please follow along.

OP, you write like you think there’s a feasible alternative. Even BTC itself plus the other GBCs have major trouble retaining staff, so they are practically at the “any warm body we can get to fill a seat” situation in many parts of the company such as EMIT.

Yep. If you haven't figured out the plan is to eliminate all Americans and HC10 employees you aren't paying attention.

Also, Americans will not continue to tolerate this madness. The oil and gas is here and there. They better add that to their plan

Don't forget KLTC, they are pitching to XOM that they are happy workers willing to take all jobs.

@oet+1jjovkuS is probably correct....simply based on the language. Was also aware of a steep migration to India for several EMIT jobs or using an MSP if the job cannot be remote.

Many Company Plans just reviewed with the MC, show BTC #s eclipsing Houston’s in the next 5 years.

Those gaps are intended to widen until any job possible is offshored.

Serious consideration for those considering long term employment from a high cost center.

Maybe we will convert the future mothballed quads at the Houston Campus into furnished condominiums for our expats and rent them back to our employees.

Do you want a townhouse or condominium on the North, South, East, or West Quad?

The sun is currently setting in the East.
