Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Horror deals caused the problems AT&T are dealing with today

Stankey and Randall are a cautionary tale of what happens when you don't stay in your lane.

These two nearly destroyed the company because they thought they could be Hollywood bigwigs and spent a mind-boggling $85 billion on Warner.

This is after they pursed the disastrous attempt to buy T-Mobile for $39 billion only to get shutdown by the government and end up paying $6 billion for failing to get the deal done.

They followed that up by demonstrating a lack of vision and good business sense by spending $49 billion to buy DirecTV, a decaying business of the past.

Two business "leaders" who don't seem to know much about business

"I didn't know Stankey has the cajones to make deals like that."

How many drawers does it take?

Trump did not shoot down the T-Mobile deal. It was under Obama in 2011.then T-Mobile was smart and upgraded their network and used our stupidity against us. In 2020 they grew bigger and bought Sprint.

Should have went golfing at Mar a Lagos instead of AT&T Pro Am. The deal would have went through.

The 6 billlon we had to pay was because the deal did not go thru. Trump told Randall he wasn’t allowing to go thru but Randall rolled the dice anyways and we all paid that year by getting 40% team awards. It was written in the com letter our team award was impacted due to the 6billiom payout

Wow, lots of down votes on this. Why? OP is spitting truths. I’m so glad u put this out for the younger employees to see. I tell people this all the time . Randall left us with billions in debt and now stankey who was the COO at the time is sc--wing over employees by forcing them to report to offices in different states. This is exactly why we are number 3 in cellular and keeping the stock up with blood money from 1,000’s they have surplused and forced to quit since they couldn’t relocate at their own expense.

It’s crazy to see executives in roles that they don’t have the ability to do. Stankey and Stephenson couldn’t run a lemonade stand.

$6 billion for T-Mobile seems like a great deal. Too bad Stankey couldn't make it happen.

Why have you stayed if you disagreed so much with these decisions?
