Funny paid posters pretending they dont know how to look up historic stock prices pre & post DG, cant find publications about WDC real estate sales, lack of HAMR, lack of M&As, or 100s of domestic rifs and 1000s of international rifs. These are all public facts. Scroll dlthrough this forum to find in depth discusions, just stop pretending DG delivered much value. .

@2ar+1jjw313za lol, It is unfair to DG. DG's predissesor got at least a lump sum extra bonus 19B while DG was told to take empty san disc to play.

@2ar+1jjw313za add context to you're humbler "facts": the integration of three companiesWD/HGST/SNDSK included site realignments, RIFs, program changes., etc. in pursuit of synergies to trim costs, and could argue more should have been done.

WDC stock price, revinue, headcount, real estate holdings were all better pre-DG, facts you can check. And his predissesor was paid max $11M/yr vs. DGs $15-30M/yr. Humbler please.

We should thank DG and his team as they were handed a tough task. We all pretend now like it was going well pre-DG when it seems we needed a different strategy.

@vr+1jjw313za was the acquisition of flash necessary when WD gained a flash group when they acquired HGST that was already enterprise focused

Four years and $100,000,000s of rewards for still blaming others. No M&A, HAMR, revinue growth, talent losses, and empty PR arent Milligans fault. DG and the people he brought with him should be humble in failure.

over the 8 years add the lost $$$ over missed STIs and be glad we’re getting one

This is Milligan’s folly. Buying Sandisk for $19B was ridiculous. Should have bought Micron, but the minds at the time did not want low margin Dram. What were they thinking, they did not know it takes Dram to create decent performing SSDs.

what did you expect, HDD took on debt to acquire flash

since DG joins the flash side, at the division, HDD division will keep the loans, become the bad bank, while Flash will have as little as possible debt.

this is like a divorce: DG, the child will be living with the mother called Flash.

DG wants the mother to get as much as possible at the divorce and father HDD to get the loans. Then childish DG is living well after divorce.

who cares about this quarter?

Can’t wait for flash to be gone. Worst acquisition ever…won’t miss DG

blaming DG is shortsighted in the broader context that flash has largely underperformed long before they arrived on scene, some of which is attributable to market forces, and some arguably attributable to integration strategy, which DG wisely unwound Be glad you are receiving any STI and get back to work

Unfortunately, the completely opaque goals for the business would have been set at the board level around June/July 2024. We must not have made all those goals.

My guess is that they set those goals expecting that the flash market would be stronger in the second half of calendar 2024.
