MMW: Guarantee will be quietly ended because it's costing the company too much money

Someone somewhere convinced leadership to implement this guarantee but it will prove to be so costly they'll quietly end it

Surplussed employee here.... take my advice.. if your were either surplussed, soon to be surplussed or a current employee .... switch to T-Mobile immediately! I did the day after my last day at "T" and OMG what a great company they are! service and support is great! you can call T-Mo customer support and speak to a human in about 10 seconds or less... I had to call the other day to both T and Tmo customer support ("T" of course trying to charge me even though I canceled service 2 months ago and made my last payment - but they still trying to collect a monthly fee) - ANyway... the call to T support went as such... 5 minutes navigating through a terrible IVR system - get to billing department where a message states " Due to high volume calls, the wait to talk to a representative is 2 hours and 45 minutes, you can hold or we can call you back" THAT IS CRAZY!!!! the call to TMO ( I hung up because I would not wait on hold - and after I chose the option for T to "call me back" I never received a phone call back) went like this... I dialed the TMO cust support number, I was asked what sort of problem I had... I stated what it was, and in 1 second a human picked up the phone and handled my question... unbelievable service! tells me T just flat out su-ks! BEtter price and benefits at TMO too... do it and you wont be mad! And, dont post that I am not a former employee of "T" - I was... surplussed because I wouldn't move across country to a location where I would still need to get on conference calls to my team that was still spread across the country - made no sense then, and makes no sense now other than to ge people to quit or be laid off to downsize the company - at a huge financial loss to me ( need to sell home for a loss, buy a home for a loss, pay a MUCH higher interest rate then I have now, and moving expenses and family upset... for a job that when you get there, likely they will say "You are no longer needed" and you get laid off anyway ... no thanks "T" !!! I will take my expertise, knowledge and experience elsewhere, where it is appreciated!

"Wait until Hurricane season hits."

You didn't read the fine print

"Excludes events beyond the control of AT&T, including but not limited to, natural disasters, weather-related events, or outages caused by third parties."

And don't forget another out:
Care: Same or next day technician appointment availability.... The AT&T Guarantee will also not apply during labor stoppages.

If you read the guantentee they don't guarantee anything of substance. Of 10 cell towers are down you will credit for that day "allegedly".

For wireline... LOL

They’ve allocated 25 M for this in 2025

For January we’re actually behind the curve at around 800k so far, but this is a slow season. Wait until Hurricane season hits. If this year is anything like last year, they’ll spend it all and then some.

I was credited $0.37 for a 1-day down time. The guarantee is embarrassing at best. ATT charges us 100X for the service and then credits us pennies on the dollar of what they charge us. What a friggin' joke. The guarantee will probably be more of a marketing nightmare than actual benefit to the corporation.

Have you read the fine print?

The whole thing is just marketing nonsense.

Who in their right mind is going to jump through all of those hoops for a possible $5 credit or whatever? Are you flipping kidding me?

It would be great if T guaranteed their employees bathroom hand soap that doesn’t cause their hands to bleed.
