I’m waiting. I’m on the third floor if you need to come get me. Left off the elevator, next left. Same cube as always even though it’s not supposed to be that way

It's almost time to see if this is true.

Wave 1 for this year is March and Wave 2 is late May into June. All IT at WEC, excluding those maintaining the datacenter equipment, will be out of WEC with largest group in March. You could be offered job in Charlotte or elsewhere but that’s very few. You could be offered remote to stay if you are that critical to the bank. That is true as I know someone that has that option on the table. They are not sure they want to stay and may take the package as they are feed up with this whole circus. There are LOB’s on other floors in WEC that have different exit dates and some will be there past June.

Yes - back to where we were!! Somebody help us! I’m going to guess that the OP who is staying until 2027 has a role that makes this necessary. Some do get exceptions. I have heard of one who was told June 2025, so I’m going to believe that will be the majority. Some will be extended based on criticality. Trying to apply logic in an upside down world but it’s all a guess.

So now we’re back to nobody really knowing if the West End Center is gonna close in June 2025 or not there’s so much speculation around the closing date and nobody has the correct answer. Everybody has a wild a-s guess

I work in WEC, in tech on the 3rd floor. My manager told me that I was slated to be laid off in 2027. He was provided a timeline for when all his non-core employees (including remote) were going to be shown the door.

What neither I nor he knows is if that means the 3rd floor will remain occupied by non-DC tech employees until then, or if they'll close the building this year as was originally planned and I work from home until 2027.

I asked about reporting to CIC and he said they weren't offering that to WEC employees in his org. Further proof that it's not really about location.

“Because of the data center strategy changes, an extension past 2025 is being considered.”

WEC data center doesn’t close until 2027. That’s already been announced.

Whoever said June 2025 was right, as of last year. Now, who knows. Because of the data center strategy changes, an extension past 2025 is being considered. How long is the extension? Will the extension impact only DC employees or everyone at WEC?

Why so little official communication on this topic?
It doesn't help that the head of cyber was parroting the old strategy for three months after location strategy was announced.

Correct majority of people out by June. Only people remaining will be decommissioning the data center. That could take a while

West End Center cannot close in June. Maybe most people out by then? Is that what you mean?

So, if June 25 WEC is closing what is the exit strategy for the building?

If you are in Winston-Salem’s West End Center, it is closing in June 2025. That’s has been known for over a year.

Clearly communicated? I guess that depends on your expectations of clear. Winston is not a hub. We all know that but no one has communicated the when. 2025, 2026. Later? You can hear anything in the office. It would be nice for those of us sitting there to know the quarter and year. Waiting in the dark is unhealthy.
