Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Any indication yet on when will it start?

The expected 5% cuts?

I have asked this often. I’ve been told managers do NOT choose who they lay-off during a RIF, however, I learned recently that there was some wiggle room with that.

"RIF" - Reduction in force... force reductions, etc.

Supposed to be a formal process, but some managers take a short-cut and do forced below ratings, right or wrong, but in doing so rob otherwise good employees of an earned benefit when they are cut.

A stupid question - what does LP stand for? Option to exit in 30 or 60 days - who chooses, the manager / HR?

What is the option for exit? Is there any severance package at all?

It was moved from February 3rd to February 18th for RIF and after that is June/July for the next RIF. LP are being put on development plans or given the option for exit in 30 or 60 days.
