You CAN have benefits during severance if you enrolled in it. Same cost - WF pays their part, you pay yours. The only thing you don't get during severance is 401k match.

No, you don’t have benefits during severance period, only during notice period. Once notice ends, you are no longer an employee - so no benefits.

and when it becomes time to consider cobra make sure to take a look at your states insurance marketplace, you may be able to find a similar plan to what you have now with WF for less.

If you get laid off, you have 60 days notice where you don't have to work. Then your severance kicks in. You have benefits through both the notice period and severance. Only when severance ends do you need to look at Cobra or find other coverage. It should all be in the packet they send you.
