Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The END

The End is closing on some you pretty fast. It's not like you didn't know this is coming but you decided to stick around and as always told yourself, it's not going to be me. Do you still think Intel is the great place to work? Stable company that you can rely on to support your family, send your kid to school, etc. What will you do if you survive this go around? Stick around for the next round to see if you will survive that one as well? Everybody told you on this site that this company recycle its employee every 2-5 years. Not smart, Ha? It sucks to put your family through this.

Are you talking about yourself and what you could have done?
Denial can occur to everyone. People eventually move on with support from family and friends. Semi is in a big down turn coming out of chip shortage and huge inflation. Vast majority of the country is concerned about heating bills coming winter. If CCP invades Taiwan, Apple, Nvidia, Amd, Qcom are toast and we will be in WWW3, which might help intel and they might rehire everyone back. Could happen. One could even wish for it.

What’s there to be optimistic about, only optimists are the fanatics

All sour laid off people (some unfortunate, some deserved) on this site, wishing ill for the company.

I hope we cut pessimists and keep the optimists, pragmatists. There is no room for cynicism if Intel wants to turn around this.

Fire and hire has been going on at intel since last 15 years. There is no end. Intel will fire 15k employees next month and within two year more employees will be hired than laid off. Each layoff cycle intel left with more managers than individual contractors. Intel will still survive due to x86 monopoly. Even you are laid off this time enjoy paid time with good severance package. You will find another job easily in few months. If you are not laid off enjoy great WLB at intel with competitive pay. In any situation it will be win for intel employees.

Great career advice. Get a job somewhere that they're able to guarantee you a job for life. McDonald's maybe?

I've worked for Intel for 10 years, get paid OK and do relatively interesting work.

I may get laid off. No regrets. It ain't the end of the world. I'll get another job.
